Lehigh Valley Startup Weekend Gives Back

This coming weekend, the Lehigh Valley will hold its first ever Startup Weekend. We are excited to have over 80 participants, almost 20 sponsors, and 11 judges and coaches as part of the weekend. However, this weekend is about more than starting a company and having some fun.

The events of this past week have been devastating for those in the direct path of Hurricane Sandy and a shock to the entire country. The latest news reports are calling this the costliest storm ever – estimating the economic impact at over $50 billion. Millions are without power, thousands are homeless, and nearly everyone in or around the storm’s path has been affected in some way, shape or form.

We could not idly stand by and watch this occur. Over the course of Lehigh Valley Startup Weekend, we will be collecting monetary donations for the American Red Cross.

You can help people affected by disasters like Hurricane Sandy as well as countless crises at home and around the world by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief Effort. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.

Whatever funds you can spare to donate would be greatly appreciated, not just by us, but by everyone involved in aiding those in need.
